Furniture Care
Q. What is the best humidity level for my antique furniture?
A. All antiques are imported from countries in Europe where the average humidity is much higher than some areas in North America, especially the Midwest where the humidity during the winter is very low. Care should be taken with providing extra humidification We suggest a minimum of 30 % humidity level. All wood will shrink or crack when it get too dry.
Q. How do I take care of my antique furniture?
A. All hardwood and veneer furniture should only be polished with a dry cloth. All waxed furniture should be polished twice a year with wax. (service available for nominal price) When an accident happens with your waxed furniture, just use steel wool #00 and remove the marks (coffee ring, etc.) and rewax.
